I had to stop using the battery completely as it became so unreliable. Will keep plugging along as time permts. I.e.

It can't be a heating problem because there is no dust left on the heatsinks/in the fan, the fan is spinning and the problem only occurs when you boot the laptop I haven't much experience with laptops but am acquainted with this in the now discontinued range of Sony Vaios. NB> Some VER ... It's a pretty involved issue and typically the computer manufacturers' tech support are unhelpful. It randomly shuts down. Unsurprisingly they want to tie consumers to their expensive replacement parts.
