For the non-photo image partitions, I create hard drive “images” of each partition. This is in case I should decide to sell my laptop, I could simply restore that image and it would be like it came from the factory. I do know that when I wanted to clone a drive, the only way I could get it to work was by using a boot disk. we now have space for about 70 incremental images and the original full backup image on the allocated space for one machine.

However, I’m open to using another backup program just for doing the photo images . When such driver detects a file copy from the mounted / explored tib file to the "normal" file system, it decompresses / restores the selected file(s) to the target drive as I recently got an external 750gb drive for backups and I wanted to store multiple images of my OS drive. It cannot be changed later - you need to reacreate the backup task and start a new backup with the newly changed compression rate.
