If you are nervous about running that Registry program, then you can just go into the registry and delete those values. If you wish to enable the Active Desktop, check My Current Home Page. The wallpaper is a solid image and isn't doing anything special. Avedesktopsites It didn't work. July 11, 2011 Random Came here to work it out. For Window Vista and Window 7, Microsoft has remove this feature, and replace it by Desktop Sidebar Gadget.

I do have a brico pack installed on my system to make XP look like vista, would that have anything to do with it? I also have this ugly "X" type icon stuck on my desktop that when i move to the recycle bin slides under it like it's on some other level than all I have tried unchecking the ‘lock desktop items' box in the display properties customize desktop dialogue.
