Active Desktop Recovery Driving Me Nuts!
Some users will get it every day, others never. Never had to do that before.No recent changes and this has been going on a very long time. The registry fix works but the problem sometimes shows up again.. Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. In the registry my Wallpaper path is still pointing to the myusername location and therefore there is no wallpaper.Active Desktop is required to show JPG wallpaper and MUST be enabled. Then there is a button that says "Restore my Active Desktop." When you Thoght it funny at the time, although I'm more likely just plain old "Advanced". Tried the above several times with complete success. It's just annoying that the button that is supposed to fix the active desktop error is also buggy and doesn't work, requiring a visual basic script hack to reset it manually. It will still be available in the system's Safe Mode, but that is no way to use this laptop except for troubleshooting and diagnosing problems.That means all your programs and settings
Even more fun, this also has something to do with whether or not one decides to show desktop icons.
