I want to get rid of it. Yes No Cookies make wikiHow better. When I use Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a Program to try to uninstall, I get a popup telling me I need to reboot the system. If I could get rid of it I'd do the direct 11.1 download.

it's not running in the background! I read in one of the forums that Compatibility Mode doesn't even require a reboot. There is no "C:\Program Files (x86)\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\Ad-Aware.exe" There is not even a Lavasoft folder anywhere in the hidden and system folders. http://neoppidum.com/ad-aware/ad-aware-se-help.php No other options are given.
